our history
The church started as a result of an outreach into Bow in May 1997. By February 2002 around 45 people were meeting in small groups around East London. Mike and Jill and family moved into the area to run the church, and so it was launched at that time and has since moved its Sunday location from Weavers Field Community Centre in Bethnal Green to the Mile End Genesis Cinema and lately to the Backyard Comedy Club (Now The FymFyg Bar) in Cambridge Heath Road.
Since the early days we have spread out from Bow to gather in small groups from Stratford and West Ham in the East to Shoreditch and Spitalfields in the West and from South Hackney in the North to the Bow Common area in the South. By being widely distributed we hope to reach the many communities of East London, and also represent their various cultures within our community of believers.
